Cazip and Dürbün are siblings "in training" with the Oberhasli
goat does and kids. These two are pretty independent from each other much of the time,
having distinctly different personalities.
Cazip is more alpha and definitely tries to be the boss in the pasture.
She also tends to be more playful. But brother Dürbün puts a quick end to
that when Cazip tries to play with the goats. He will either do a body slam into
her, or entice her to play with him away from the goats. He is always successful in
preventing his sister from inappropriate play behavior with the goats. Cazip is the
one to be at the frontlines when she perceives a threat, and will warn the other dogs and
goats away from the fence in order to take care of the problem herself!
Dürbün means binoculars; he was named for his very keen ability to not
miss anything going on around him! He is now the larger one of the two. He
likes to spend his time buddying up to Kara, the older male Anatolian working in the
pasture, quietly being on guard, or playing with his sister. We are watching to see
if his behavior with Kara has significance later in regard to taking over the lead male
role.
